Dire Microfinance’s Board of Directors has held a pivotal meeting to review the institution’s performance and set future directions.
The session, chaired by Mayor kedir Juhar, brought together board members to deliberate on key agendas and pass resolutions that will shape the organization’s trajectory.
Dire Micro Finance Chief Executive Officer Mr. Teshome Abebe presented the 2018 fiscal year performance report alongside the 2019 operational plan.
After extensive discussion and evaluation, the Board approved both documents, acknowledging the institution’s achievements while emphasizing the importance of sustained growth.
One of the major decisions centered on the institution’s reliance on a shared core banking system with other microfinance organizations. Recognizing the need for independence and modernization, the Board resolved to procure a dedicated core banking system tailored to Dire Microfinance’s operations. This move is expected to enhance efficiency, strengthen digital financial services, and improve customer experience.
The Board also appointed an external auditor, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and accountability.
Members praised the institution’s ongoing efforts to mobilize resources for lending and highlighted the importance of expanding savings mobilization to deepen community financial inclusion.
In its closing remarks, the Board reaffirmed its dedication to providing strong oversight and support.
The resolutions passed underscore Dire Microfinance’s determination to remain a trusted institution, empowering individuals and communities through accessible financial services.
