9-Month Performance Report Review Held

Dire Micro-Finance Institution held its 9-month performance review forum for branches and head office for 2 days at Harar Wonderland Hotel.

At the 2-day performance review forum, the performance reports of the institution’s 11 branches and the head office’s human resources, operations and finance directorates were presented and discussed. The questions and comments raised were also responded to by the report’s presenters.

In the past nine months, it was planned to distribute more than 635 million birr of loans to 2,821 loan customers, and more than 745 million birr of loans were distributed to 3,005 people, indicating that the institution has exceeded its plan and recorded effective performance.

In nine months, it was planned to lend more than 577 million birr to 2,389 entrepreneurs organized in micro and small enterprises, and it was possible to provide loan services to 2,568 entrepreneurs of more than 717 million birr, which was reflected in the forum by exceeding the plan and demonstrating effective performance.

In terms of loan disbursement, it was planned to repay more than 279 million birr, and it was possible to repay more than 272 million birr, which was an effective performance of repaying 97 percent of the plan.

It was also stated in the forum that the institution’s total loan outstanding to loan customers was more than 1.3 billion birr.

During the report review forum, the Director of the MIS Directorate and Deputy CEO of Dire Micro-Finance, Ato Fasil Getachew, stated that encouraging work has been done in terms of savings collection and loan repayment, and said that the experience of branches that have achieved this performance should be expanded to other branches and that they should build on each other and learn from each other. In this regard, he emphasized that all branches should work consistently and equally on increasing savings collection and repaying arrears.

Ensuring the participation and benefit of women and youth is one of the main focus areas of Dire Micro-Finance, and the Deputy CEO stated that it is being worked on with great attention.

Fasil Getachew, Director of the MIS Directorate of Dire Micro-Finance and Deputy CEO of the institution, who chaired the discussion forum, pointed out that it is necessary to work more diligently than ever in terms of increasing the use of credit and savings services by women and youth.

Since maintaining the effectiveness of Dire Micro-Finance and increasing its profitability from time to time by providing excellent customer service and increasing customer satisfaction is a matter of survival, it is expected of all of us to work in a coordinated and comprehensive manner, he said.

Fasil also emphasized that in order to be competitive and at the forefront in the financial sector, it is necessary to work with determination to serve customers better by being customer-oriented and giving priority to customers.

The review forum concluded by setting work guidelines and indicating future focus areas.
